CIPAmb carried out the seizure of trucks with illegal wood

Two trucks loaded with illegal wood were seized.
Drivers insist on transporting illegal wood and end up being arrested
On Friday morning (11), in the community of Perema, located on the margins of PA-374 (Curuá- Una), in Santarem, the 1st Independent Company of Environmental Policing (CIPAmb) seized two trucks carrying illegal wood.


Around 10am the military received an anonymous tip about a white truck with license plate JTM 1166 that was transporting illegal wood.


The driver of the truck abandoned the vehicle and drove off in an unknown direction, according to local residents. The agents found approximately 6m³ of processed wood. After the fact was reported to the CIPAmb command for the appropriate procedures, the Semma – Municipal Secretariat of Environment – was called.


While the military awaited support, another yellow truck, license plate AAR 4674, driven by Edson Lima Pereira, aroused suspicion and an approach was made. The driver confirmed that he was transporting illegal wood.
The vehicles and the loads were seized and taken to Semma’s yard for the appropriate procedures.
